Hello! We support bike lines. We know from evidence that bike lanes help to: - reduce gridlock - reduce greenhouse gases - get people moving faster Lire davantage

There are so many reasons why this is a massively bad idea. First of all, the evidence does not support the notion that bike lanes cause congestion. We know they don’t. Lire davantage

This proposed bill is counter to the credible research on bike lanes, traffic congestion management, road safety, and overall livability and systemic health impacts of additional motor vehicles in cities. In short, it is bad policy. Lire davantage

There is no need to build priority highways faster. We need regional rail outside of cities and MORE bike lanes and pedestrian space within cities. Cities need to be able to prioritize healthy, livable communities, not drive-through car culture. Lire davantage

The Bill is Big Government overreach. I am surprised the party of small government proposed it. Municipalities should have the final say in how they manage their traffic.

The proposal to give the provincial government both future and retroactive decision making powers over the installation of new or removal of existing bicycle lanes is an egregious overstep of provincial authority. Lire davantage

I'm an avid urban cycling commuter and in my family, we mostly travel by bike, public transportation and the occasional carshare and having the infrastructure in place can mean life or death. Lire davantage

This is a backwards terrible idea that is not in favour of most of Toronto. We need to be prioritizing alternate transportation that supports the need for a cleaner and more sustainable city. Doug is completely out of touch and this proposal shows it.

Hi, I live in London Ontario and I am strongly opposed to this legislation. The creation of bike lanes has been very important at improving the safety on the roads for my children who use their bikes to go school. Lire davantage

This overall proposal is short sighted and just a way for the premier to try to gain votes with 905 voters. It will have real harm and make road ways more dangerous for cyclists and not make any real change with decreasing traffic.

I am a young professional who lives in Toronto, owns a car, owns a home, pays my taxes dutifully, and commutes by bicycle around the city weather permitting. I have a car that I use it for errands, and when necessary, but getting around the city is most efficient by bike. Lire davantage

This is the single best piece of legislation the province of Ontario has ever had. It should be constitutionally entrenched so that future governments cannot rescind it without 2/3 super majority of Ontarians via referendum. Lire davantage

This legislation will Kill People. People need to get places, be that by car, or bike, or transit or walking. But just one of these travel options is killing hundreds and injuring tens of thousands of people in Ontario every year. Lire davantage

The Bill212 Reducing Gridlock Act seems under developed, not fact based, and encroaches on the power of the municipalities to make their own decisions about their own transportation needs. Lire davantage

There is ample research showing that building more/bigger roads does not improve traffic, and actually makes it worse! Here's an article that points to many great sources https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/bike-lanes-impacts-1.7358319 Lire davantage

Getting rid of bike lanes does not reduce congestion, in fact it creates more of it. It creates more pollution as you will force more people to drive in cars. Hey 400, Hwy 401, Hwy 417, DVP are all heavily travelled and have traffic backups and they don't have any bike lanes. Lire davantage

This is fundamentally undemocratic. I voted for a mayor, a city councillor, a provincial MPP, and a federal MP, all of whom are pro-bike lane, because I want bike lanes in my neighbourhood! This is a complete overreach by the province. Butt out of our municipalities! Lire davantage
