Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is one of the last remaining nesting grounds for the endangered Piping Plover in Ontario. The proposed selling of parts of this park for development could well mean the end of the Piping Plover. Please don't allow that to happen. Lire davantage

I was extremely concerned to hear of the proposed amendments to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, which would remove areas of Wasaga Provincial Park from protected status in order to facilitate tourism development. Lire davantage

It is a corrupt and reckless decision to allow changes that would threaten the already critical habitat of piping plovers.

Wow! Our very own Donald Trump, making promises he has no intention of keeping, at his constituents' expense and the expense of environmental protections. Lire davantage

This is ill thought out. Provincial parks, esp those with beaches such as Wasaga, are seeing more use than ever before. Lire davantage

I am heart broken that some of the remaning natural beauty and wildlife habitat will be destroyed for wealthy developers, preventing everyday people and visitors from experiencing Wasaga Beach. Lire davantage

Provincial Parks are a sacred territory. After careful evaluation of their environmental values, they have been set aside to protect those values. They are protected as a whole. Bits and pieces of them are not marketable for private profit. Lire davantage

I commend thinking about the future and being creative in the process. But I strongly oppose appropriating already designated land that is protected for environmental, recreational or endangered species habitat.

I would like to see our more parks in Ontario and not less. We need more nature in our lives not less, for environmental reasons and for the physical and mental wellbeing all people. We need more green spaces for people who cannot afford vacations. Lire davantage

This proposal is, likely deliberately, very short on details. My assumption is that the purpose is to construct buildings inside the provincial park. Again, a proposal that destroys the natural beauty of the province is presented as an "enhancement". Lire davantage

Simply, do not sell off provincial parks or parts thereof. These areas are provincial assets, a heritage for the people to come. We need to preserve nature not to turn it into a playground.

Removing the beaches from the park so they can be “enhanced” is a destructive idea. More buildings is not what Wasaga needs. Cleaning up existing structures and “enhancing”’ infrastructure that already exists would do the town a world of good. Lire davantage

This is not okay. Stop ruining our province so developers can make more money! Our provincial parks and beaches are what makes Ontario great. We need to protect these areas and the wildlife and nature in them! Lire davantage

Provincial parks are meant to protect Ontarians' natural heritage. Allowing changes and potential construction in these areas is an attack on our shared environment, our biodiversity, and the very purpose these protected spaces were created for. Lire davantage

It looks like this proposal is giving away half the provincial Park – in the least developed area of the park. What's to become of it – except to make more money for those who develop it. Once this land is gone – it's gone. Lire davantage

Provincial parks should be left alone. The are public spaces and should be reserved for future generations AS IS!. Also putting endangered species at risk again means future generations will only be able to see these animals in books and wonder why we didn't do more to protect them. Lire davantage

We must continue to protect our provincial parks and species such as the Piping Plover. I am against selling portions of this park to developers, sacrificing public land for profits. I support keeping laws in place that protect our provincial parks from development.
