I am 100% opposed to the sale of any portion of any provincial park. This one seems to be particularly a case of naked greed. If it happens, I will never again spend one cent of my tourist dollars in the municipality of Wasaga Beach.

The piping plover is an endangered species that resides in Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, and its habitat is part of the land to be removed under this proposal. Consider the negative ecological consequences of this decision because their habitat is currently protected. Lire davantage

Provincial Parks belong to the people of Ontario, and should -- along with the important species that live there -- be safeguarded for future generations. Increasing tourism does not require selling off the land.

I just read abt the proposal to remove a vast amount of the Wasaga Beach shoreline for development! Why on earth would we do this! This beach and area has provided many memorie, families spending time together, the whole "beach" community must be protected!! Lire davantage

No changes should be made to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act to turn the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park over to the local municipality. This land is ecologically significant. Lire davantage

Selling of provincial park land for development in Wasaga Beach is so disappointing on the governments part. Species at risk (piping plovers) and rare ecosystems (savannahs) need to be protected forever in the provincial park. Lire davantage

The unique feature of Wasaga Beach, longest freshwater beach, home of the very few remaining nesting grounds of the Pippen Plover and an important stop over for monarch butterflies needs to be protected not just now, but for our future generations. Lire davantage

Piping plovers are only just recovering in Ontario to remove their protection and sell the land from under their literal feet, would be devastating. We cannot proceed with the paving of paradise. Ontarians have said time and time again, green spaces are important to us. Lire davantage

We do not need to be handing over sensitive conservation lands to be developed. Provincial Parks are an incredible way to preserve nature and natural habitats for generations to come. These are our public lands

The main attraction of wasaga is the beach. It’s counter to your intentions if you wish to increase tourism but reduce the amount of available beach for tourists in exchange for 2.5 additional beachfront cottages to be used by a couple of families for a few weeks. Lire davantage

Dear Mr. Ford, As a resident of Ontario, I'm against your government selling or transferring any of Wasaga beach provincial park lands to either the Town or any developers. This important land needs to stay part of the park. Lire davantage

I do not support this move!! We are in the beginnings of an environmental crisis and now is not the time to be gutting environmental protections. Stop selling and exploiting our beautiful natural sites and save our future before the damage is too severe to repair.

I wholeheartedly oppose the sale, rental, lease, and/or gifting of any part of a designated Provincial Park for long term/permanent usage by private individuals or corporations. These are public property, and should always remain such. Lire davantage

I do not think Wasaga beach is missing out on any tourism, as the streets are filled every summer and the town is full, destroying beach front that is a nesting ground for an endangered species is not the way I would like to see Wasaga expand. Lire davantage

I do not support this. Provincial parks are owned by the taxpayers of Ontario. Not Doug Ford. Not the Conservative Party of Ontario, and not Municipality of Wasaga Beach. If this change goes through it is a theft from Ontarians into the hands of developers. Lire davantage

This is an incredibly stupid idea. Provincial parks should be sacrosanct. Why is someone like Doug Ford (remember the green belt scandal) allowed anywhere near protected lands?

This land is ecologically important and needs to be protected at all costs. The only way to ensure it remains undeveloped and safe is to keep it in provincial hands. There has been enough dismantling of protected areas and development on critical environmental ecosystems and it needs to stop here.
