I have enjoyed Wasaga Beach area for over 10 years. I believe that the development will destroy tourism.

The Historical Parks Act was set up to protect natural areas for future generations. It was enacted to prevent the exact occurrence that this government is trying to allow. In this time of climate crisis, we need more biodiversity, not more concrete. Lire davantage

Please protect the natural habitat and lands of Wasaga beach. You’ll only have one chance to get it right. Once the natural (and Pete tube) dunes—that have been there for thousands of years—are impacted, you can’t go backwards. Lire davantage

Privatizing provincial park land for the wealthy or for tourists is a terrible move. Ignoring the massive habitat disruption/destruction that will take place, when it gets hot, Ontarians deserve to have a place to go to get cool. Lire davantage

Please, please, please keep this truly unique nature preserve intact as it is now. The rare species of the piping plover needs to be protected in order to keep the natural world around us safe. Lire davantage

This proposal threatens fragile ecosystems, undermines protections for at-risk species, bypasses democratic oversight, and lacks transparency. The parcels in question belong to the people of Ontario and are meant to be protected forever, not sold off for short-term tourism gains. Lire davantage

I am saying no to reducing lands from any Provincial Park in Ontario including Wasaga Beach! The parks in this Province are protected for a reason and should not be sold for commercial development! If the developers had their way, all of Ontarios public land would be condos and strip malls! Lire davantage

The care of preserving and protecting wildlife is not seriously being considered in Wasaga as they create this new infrastructure despite what the Mayor is saying. Lire davantage

The needless destruction and development of Ontario’s natural heritage in the name of tourism is a crime against all the people of Ontario except the greedy few who benefit from what amounts to land theft and environmental mismanagement in an age when we need to put more legal protections in place n Lire davantage

As a life long resident and property owner in New Wasaga Beach (even before it was renamed) I am very concerned that the town could restrict my access to 'my' beach by selling it off and making it private property. That be devastating to the property owners in New Wasaga and Allenwood. Lire davantage

How does selling the beaches contribute to the revitalization of the area? It limits access for the public. The Ford government is very short sighted, allowing damage to the environment for short term financial gains.

Absolutely not! Wasaga beach as we all know, is the longest fresh water beach in the world! If does just fine with visitors , some who are already destroying it. Our waters are precious to us. Lire davantage

This proposal would be absolutely devastating to an already environmentally vulnerable zone. As someone who has spent every summer in Wasaga Beach for 34 years, the environmental degradation is clear. Keep this area out of Doug Ford's grubby hands and away from his developer friends. I grew up camping at wasaga provincial park. Its the only nice beach close to toronto we can camp. Leave our parks alone! We need more parks, not less.

Parks are a national treasure, not only for humans but all plants and animals flourishing inside them. I oppose any motion to threaten this.

When will the Ford government wake up to what the people of Ontario really want! He was not given a mandate to sell off our parklands, nor unilaterally determine the direction or lack there of our Environmental Protection. Lire davantage

This a sad situation. It’s taking away the public’s beaches for houses. There’s plenty of land in other parts of Ontario that does not affect the public beach area. Leave it alone.

This proposal is monstrous. It is shocking to me as an Ontarian that this government would have the audacity to dismantle a provincial park as part of a giveaway to developers. This horrifying scheme threatens the delicate dunes environment and the endangered piping plover. Lire davantage
