When species habitats crumble, humans will crumble. Wetland habitats near me in the suburbs have been destroyed to build new townhouses. We saw an increase in wildlife running through our suburban streets. Read more

The Ontario government’s proposed Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, is deeply troubling from both an ecological and governance perspective. Read more

I oppose Bill 5 and the changes being proposed to the Endangered Species Act, 2007. I am deeply concerned about these proposed changes and disgusted at the idea of our government even considering them. This could weaken protections for Ontarios most vulnerable species. Read more

This bill does not consider the long term effects of unregulated development. With no protections in place, the waters we drink, forests, wetlands, all at risk of losing the services they DO already provide as they are.

This act is not acceptable. It guts the environmental assessment process for species at risk especially if activities destructive to habitat, etc. can take place before any review. By then, obviously, it is too late. Read more

Dear Premier Ford, We are in a global biodiversity crisis. In Ontario alone, more than 230 plants and animals are at risk. The healthy forests, waters and wetlands species at risk rely on sustain all Ontarians. I urge your government to: Read more

I strongly oppose Ontario’s Bill 5. This legislation dismantles the Endangered Species Act, replacing it with a weakened framework that prioritizes development over ecological integrity. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. More effort towards environmental conservation and protection needs to be made. These economic zone shortcuts would be overly destructive and unsustainable long-term.

You have got to be joking. You are not fooling anyone. Cash cow for developers. Death to animals and their habitat. This is outrageous. It is possible to build houses without destroying the environment. Use your brains and create instead of desecrate. Go back and start again. Fail! Read more

I'm writing to strongly oppose the proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and the introduction of the Species Conservation Act, 2025. These changes would seriously weaken protections for Ontario’s most at-risk species and their habitats. Read more

Please reconsider making changes to the endangered species act. Taking protection away from their paths and feeding areas will most certainly put them in imminent and inevitable danger. And they are already endangered species after all. Read more

Bill 5 proposes to repeal the Endangered Species Act — one of the few tools we have to protect at-risk wildlife and the ecosystems they depend on. Replacing it with vague “goals” and unenforceable measures will lead to the further decline of species already on the brink. This is not modernization. Read more

I oppose bill 5. I oppose short cuts for industry with no public oversight. I want stronger environmental and endangered species protections. I oppose overwriting the law in special economic zones. Read more

Stop putting housing first and consider our ecosystem. With more infrastructure, fewer species will thrive, leading to the extinction of more and more. This will eventually come back to bite us all in the ass. Let's build, but let's also take things other than money into account.
