I’m strongly against Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act. This bill puts Ontario’s natural environment, democratic process, and Indigenous rights at serious risk. Read more

I am dry much opposed to Bill 5. Compromising protections for at risk and endangered species is clearly shortsightedly contrary to the necessity of preserving habitat for these species and providing protections to ensure their survival in a time when humans are destroying all things natural! I urge the Ontario government to withdraw Bill 5 in its entirety and instead work with environmental experts, Indigenous leaders and the public to strengthen — not dismantle — our systems of environmental protection.

The proposed legislation guts environmental protections while favouring a wild west system where we will not know what is going on or who will be effected until after serious torts have been committed. Read more

Hello, I really do not support changes to the species conservation act and believe this to be against Canadian values and does not consider the environment in the very least. Please take this into consideration because it is our responsibility to do so.

It’s clear that Doug Ford is now attempting another way to destroy the Greenbelt and all wildlife with this monstrous Bill 5. What he’s forgetting is that we are wildlife. We are not separate from Nature.. we are a part of it. There are so many of us that do NOT want this. Read more

The proposed Species Conservation Act, 2025, and the interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007, should not proceed because they represent a significant rollback of essential protections for at-risk species and their habitats. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. As an Ontarian who has lived here my entire life, I have watched as our wetlands have been destroyed for development that has not served the community, and put further strains on our cities and infrastructure. We need more protections for wildlife and the ecosystem. Read more

Sad that anyone could vote to axe efforts to conserve nature. Greed has overtaken our senses and dulled our hearts. We must not allow watered down policies to prevail. Do not get rid of endangered species act before we become one ourselves!!

I strongly oppose this in every way. We need more protections for species at risk, not less. We need more green spaces and fewer developers paving over treaty territory. This will not benefit the public at all. It is lazy and unethical. Read more
