Species at risk are important to me and my life, as well as the identity of Ontarians. I strongly believe Ontario should protect the habitat for migratory birds, and I don’t see any plan for this in the proposed legislation and the new species conservation program.

While I support growing Ontario’s economy, I find Bill 5 deeply troubling. Replacing the Endangered Species Act with a weaker Species Conservation Act will strip vital habitat and anti-harassment safeguards, leaving at-risk species more exposed.

I do not support the repeal of the Endangered Species Act. I do not believe that the Species Conservation Act provides sufficient protections for wildlife.
Get this Bill approved and we truly will be the United States' 51st state. Canada will lose its integrity and care for our environment and Indigenous Peoples. When will our leaders stop pushing for exploiting our land and resources? To what end? This is disgusting.
I oppose Bill 5 for the following reasons:
The bill waters down rules that protect endangered species and natural heritage sites, maintain oversight of mining activities, require respect for constitutionally guaranteed Indigenous Rights and mandate environmental assessments and protections.
