As a local resident, I am wholly opposed to the proposal to transfer administration and control of Nancy Island from MECP to MTCG by removing Nancy Island from the PPCRA and including it under the HPA, and to remove portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park from the PPCRA. Read more

Please- do NOT do this. The one commodity they aren’t making more of is land. We need this space for our trees & animals and it’s WAY more important than a developers pocketbook. Do not destroy some of the remaining protected land for development. Read more

Wasaga beach is not for sale. This town is important for the entire community, including wildlife. Selling off land will not allow for preservation but instead will ruin the beauty of this land.

Please stop jeopardizing the future of this beautiful progress for the sake of money. Find a better way than to develop provincial park land. We are in a climate crisis and we are our own worst enemies sacrificing nature and our children’s futures for a buck. FIND A BETTER WAY NOT THE EASY WAY.

This is outrageous. Wasaga Beach is regarded as our most popular provincial park. It's now under threat. These proposed amendments are the threat. Read more

Parks are not for sale, as a resident, tax payer and active citizen listen to the people. More parks for free, more lands that protect wildlife, more areas free for outdoor recreation and activity. I do not support the For profit and private use of areas like Wasaga beach.

I don’t agree with the sale of public land and destroying valuable provincial parkland for private developers. Listen to your taxpayers - do not allow this to pass.

Please do not sell public land to be developed. There are already few enough accessible parks to the people of Ontario. Making them smaller does not make any sense.

Do not sell off any part of this very important provincial park. This is the longest freshwater beach IN THE WORLD, we should be protecting every inch of the shore line. Read more

The mayor and town council insist that this transfer is an important step in making Wasaga Beach a four season destination. I have concerns about the impact on the environment of this proposal to the beaches and surrounding areas. Read more

I'm writing to express my unequivocal opposition to the Ontario Government's proposed amendments to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act and the Town of Wasaga Beach’s so-called Tourism Enhancement Proposal. I don't think that the public park should be made open to develop. I believe its important to protect our greenspace, and the animals who live there. I imagine there are other areas nearby that can be revitalized instead. Read more

The future of the Piping Plover within Ontario is in dire straits and only we can ensure their longevity. Other municipalities are offering protection for these scarce birds and Wasaga Beach should be no different. Read more

I grew up in the town of Collingwood and have moved back to the area after living abroad for ten years. The wasaga beach water front is an extraordinary piece of land that should continue to be open to public access. The idea of selling off this beautiful space for profit is repugnant. Read more

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and all Provincial Parks should be protected by our government, not being taken away. I care about our parks, the biodiversity and conservation and strongly opposed this proposal. We need to protect these spaces, not destroy them. Read more

Wasaga beach is not a city, its cottage country. Selling off this land, will destroy the wildlife, and the ecosystem that makes that area what it is. I grew up in Wasaga Beach, and to destroy where we played and learned as children, you are taking away from children for generations to come. Read more

The Georgian Bay and Lake Huron are both already stressed enough as it is. With constant development around the lake, wildlife and marine life have all taken a hit. For a province that prides itself on its 340 provincial parks, it's time the government recognized their ecological importance. Read more
