Destroying the habitat of animals (plovers) to increase tourism is NOT the reason people support the parks. Provincial parks are made to protect the natural environment and using it for anything else is selfish and eraversable.

I strongly oppose the development of Wasaga Beach provincial park lands. It is critically important that we maintain environmental protections on the land, especially considering the Wasaga Beach ecosystem provides environmentally sensitive habitat for wildlife, like the endangered Piping Plover. I am firmly against any removal of land from any provincial park. It reminds me of the greenbelt scandal. Hands off the provincial parks and greenbelt!!!

I grew up frequenting the beautiful beaches that lie along the shores of Nottawasaga Bay, including Wasaga Beach and the beaches of Tiny Township. Wasaga Beach is perhaps the only beach left protected under our Ontario Provincial Parks. Read more

This sets a bad precedent for other provincial parks. This would also greatly reduce public access. Not to mention any of the potential environmental impacts.

Save the birds. They are an endangered species. By getting rid of the beaches you’re getting rid of their homes. We must do better as humans.

I visit wasaga beach regularly throughout the summer and do not believe it is in the best interests of the tourists or the environment to sell off sections of the beach for tourism development. Read more
