I am a long time resident of Wasaga Beach and I oppose the town and the provincial government’s proposal to sell 60 hectares of land. Transferring ownership of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park lands is not required to support beach-related tourism re-development plans in the Town of Wasaga Beach. Read more

Wasaga beach is a provincial treasure that as of now is everyone’s to share, selling it off will only make it less accessible, more crowded and less affordable. Have some common sense and keep Ontario's public land in public hands.

Wasaga Beach should not be transferred to the Town of Wasaga. Vital conservation efforts are needed to restore and maintain populations of piper plovers that nest there. Municipal governments are not allowed to run deficits. Read more

Please do not allow the provincial park at Wasaga Beach to be sold to the town. The impact of such an action could defeat all the work that has been done to save the piping plover . An endangered bird that has made a comeback due to the fact it nests in a provincial park. Read more

Why does everything have to be for sale? Why can’t we just leave places just the way they are? Why is it always about money? Once it’s gone, there’s no going back.

To even think that provincial parks are in danger of being sold and destroyed is exhausting. We have so much mental health crisis where doctors and physicians are telling people to get outside, nature bathe, try a challenge and now we are closing so many of those opportunities. Read more

Please do not do this to the beautiful Wasaga Beach! We are nature we come from nature and you’re willing to destroy it. We have one earth and humanity is slowly taking too much from it. Let nature be let us enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in Ontario. Money is not always the answer. Read more

Protection of natural areas is more important than ever. Changes to this act will erode the protections set in place to mitigate climate degradation and species endangerment. It is very short sighted. Read more
