there can be no retrenchment from lands protected for the public, period. This encroachment only weakens all protected lands that have been set aside by the province and Canada for public use. I am a big user of public parks and have enjoyed their benefits all my life. Read more

I am not in favour of amending the act just to bolster the towns economy. This is a provincial park. The land should be available for EVERYONE to use and have access to. We cannot start changing the laws just to suit the greed of a few.

It is unacceptable that the province is even considering selling off this land. First and foremost, Wasaga Beach and Allenwood and New Wasaga Beach are centrepieces of Ontario and the GTA landscape. They are some of the most accessible and safest areas to access waterfront in the province. Read more

NO appropriation of public land, especially designated Ontario Park land, is acceptable. Obviously private land is your option.

Provincial parks should be protected at all costs. The land the environment, the habitats, the animals, insects, nature, are all critical to the survival of our planet. This is a line that should not be crossed. Don’t move ahead with these amendments!

While I support some development at Wasaga Beach as it has languished for years, I don’t think the current Mayor, councillors or CAO have the skills to effectively engage the community in their development plans. Read more

This is a slippery slope, in setting a precedent to put all of our parks and green spaces at risk. Not protecting Wasaga Beach environment and the Plover habitat has grave consequences for the future of the beach. Read more

Parks are an important space worth conserving. It’s a place to retreat from the concrete jungle that we live in, breath and reset. If we dont prioritize them, we will loose them, and our kids will never experience. Please consider standing up for our parks and not allowing them to be develeoped

I do not support this proposal. This plan is reckless and does not serve my community. We need a plan that commits funding to protect and conserve Piping Plovers and their habitat. I'm concerned about increased threats to our relict beach such as mechanical raking. Read more

The Provincial Parks make Ontario amazing and they should be protected with nature conservation in mind. Without dedication to the parks and natural land, there won’t be sustainable life in the province. Without people surviving, you can’t make money!!

Public lands belong to the public. The Ontario government has no right to sell off this land. Public access to waterfronts is slowly being chipped away at in Ontario in the name of greed and profit. Selling Provincial Park land is a new low for this government, which speaks volumes. Read more
