This is a horrible land grab which will remove endangered species habitats, and threaten a vibrant tourist destination. Ontario has plenty of space that's already developed, we should not be encroaching upon already limited park space. Read more

In a time of biodiversity loss and catastrophic disasters exacerbated by climate change, we should be working to create more protected areas not remove them for the financial gain of a few. Read more

Dear Gov Official, As a taxpayer & a tax paying Ontario Resident, in Wasaga Beach & Toronto. I don’t want our Provincial Public Land put up for private sale. The beaches are busy. On the weekends the parking lots are full. Read more

I am in COMPLETE OPPOSITION to the sale of parts of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Ontario's Provincial Parks exist to protect and preserve our natural environment IN PERPETUITY and belong to ALL ONTARIANS and our future generations. Read more

" Selling provincial park land is just the latest in a series of harmful actions, including the repeal of the Endangered Species Act under Bill 5, the stripping down of environmental assessment processes, and granting the government authority to designate special economic zones anywhere — exempt fro Read more

Removing any land from Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves is a step backwards for the province and a blatant scheme for more development on pristine land. Wasaga Beach is home to one of the last few nesting spots of Piping plovers, an endangered species of shorebird in Ontario. Read more

Wasaga Beach is one of four (known) piping plover nesting grounds left in all of Ontario. They're an endangered species of bird and losing a quarter of their reproduction sites and, arguably, their best one would be detrimental. Read more

As a taxpayer I hope you listen to the people of your province. We do NOT want our parks sold and privately developed. Leave our greenspace alone!

It’s obvious you’re doing this to feel powerful and attempt to hide that you have no solid plans or proposals to increase tourism for the land you already do own. The more land under your belt that you improperly manage, the faster you’ll sink when it all goes under.

Please reconsider this proposal as this is important habitat for endangered species such as the piping plover.

I don’t not support the sale of our public greenspace and provincial parks and think it’s important to voice my opinion. I do not support this proposal.

Sounds like another sell-off of Ontario's Public Assests by the Premier. The repetitive cry calling for more development is upon us again. Read more

Wasaga Beach is not just a popular summer destination—it is one of the most critical nesting sites in Ontario for the endangered Piping Plover. These small, migratory shorebirds rely on undisturbed stretches of sandy beach for nesting, feeding, and rearing their young. Read more

I am completely against selling or giving away any protected or provincial park land to the town of Wasaga Beach or any other person, party or company and want it to remain protected and/or provincial park in Wasaga Beach AND elsewhere.

I strongly oppose this proposal as Ontario Parks need to be protected, not developed. Ontario Parks are important to our fight on climate change for people - clean air and water and for species at risk and other species who call parks their home.
