Approving this is not in the best interest of the protecting the land. It is not abiding by the initial reason of placing this inside a protected area. Once paved over, it is gone forever. A better balance must be found of increasing dollar revenue and protecting protected areas. Read more

I am deeply disturbed at the notion that such a critical ecology for all members of the beachfront community is threatened in the name of tourism. Read more

Please do not sell the land, protect endangered species like the Piping Plover and other species that use the beaches!! The beaches are important habitats for so many species, we need to protect our wildlife.

I am adamantly opposed to removing any lands from our provincial parks especially for the purposes of development and tourism. The proposed changes will have an adverse effect on the wildlife especially the piping plover. Read more

I am beyond disgusted with the Ford government for attempting to destroy this beautiful area and wipe out so many important species of birds and wildlife for the sake of development. If you continue doing this to our sacred land there will be no future for generations to come.

There is a need for more natural resources such as hiking, swimming, etc to be enjoyed by residents of Ontario close to major residential areas. This proposal for development will restrict usage to a smaller number of people. Read more

I’m writing to express my opposition to the proposed sale and development of public land at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Provincial parks are meant to protect nature, support biodiversity, and provide accessible green space for everyone, not to be sold off for private profit. Read more

Transferring ownership of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park would set a very dangerous precedent that provincial parks are for sale. These are meant for all the people of Ontario, not a select few. Read more

I am expressing my deep concern with this proposal to sell large parts if Wasaga provincial park (specially Beach areas 1 and 2, as well as New Wasaga).  It seems extremely shortsigned for the province of Ontario to sell precious public lands for development, a move that is irreversible once develop Read more

Brian - You cannot in good conscience support this measure. If you are a true champion of Collingwood and Grey Bruce, stand up to this blatant act of theft from your constituents.

I am shocked to hear that the provincial government wants to decrease the size of Provincial Parks to allow development. Provincial Parks are public property and create for a reason, usually because the area is significant and should be protected. Read more

Removing Nancy Island and large sections of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park from the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act is not “protection”. It’s deregulation dressed up as revitalization. This year alone, Ontario has already weakened species and habitat protections. Read more
