I strongly oppose the proposed legislative amendments to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act (PPCRA) that would remove significant portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park — including Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga, and Allenwood Beach — and transfer them to the Town of Wasaga Beach. This proposal seems to be about driving tourism and investment in the area of Wasaga Beach. However, it seems to me that if we begin down sizing our provincial parks for economic growth we set a precedent that could have farther reaching impacts than just Wasaga Beach. Read more

As a longtime resident of Simcoe Grey and a frequent visitor to Wasaga Beach, I am vehemently opposed to this proposal. Not only is it detrimental to the ecosystem within the park, but it will set a dangerous precedent going forward. Read more

All Provincial Parks must remain protected and must NOT be give back to nearby towns or sold off to developers. They are the property of all Ontario citizens and must be preserved in perpetuity.

i care about the environment, this proposal threatens our environment and that in turn threatens us as well. I call on the government to strengthen the environmental protections to keep our environment and space safe
