I do not support this proposed transfer of land. The beauty and attraction of Wasaga Beach lies in its existence as a provincial park - people come for the beaches and nature. Read more

I do not live in Canada, but have lived in Australia nearly all my life and understand the need to implement policies to help protect and let endangered species thrive, and not die out. It has happened a lot here in Australia and also in New Zealand. Read more

Though I support this direction for both Nancy Island and beach one and two, I am concerned about the area between Spruce Street and the mouth of the Nottawasaga river. Please consider setting up land restrictions that protect the dunes and the species at risk that live in this area. Read more

I am writing to express my strenuous opposition to the proposed transfer of lands from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to the Town of Wasaga Beach (ERO posting # 025-0694). My concerns begin with shortcomings within the posting itself: Read more

I do not agree with the proposed opening of the beach lands. This should be kept as is and preserved for the habitat and ecological value it currently holds.

I do not have much of an opinion on Nancy's Island, however, I believe the changes proposed for beach area 2, 1, wasaga beach and allenwood beach are incredibly hasty and irresponsible. Read more

This development would set a dangerous precedent for environmental development - the environment of the animals of the area, but also the environment of the community. The Wasaga Beach I know is for the residents, the family visitors, and the animals and plants that call the area home. Read more

I am concern that this proposal will drastically affect many existing habitats within the park, specifically those of piping plovers as their nesting sites are incredibly rare. Therefore I’d hope that the provincial government takes these factors into account before continuing with the plan.

With our neighbours to the south making disastrous movements towards harming our environments and lowering protection we owe the world whatever we can do. In this case it means keeping our protected wildlife as just that; protected. Read more

Wasaga Beach is Ontario’s most productive Piping Plover nesting site, and its success has come from science-based protections under Ontario Parks. Removing the protections will leave this endangered species without legal safeguards, putting decades of conservation work at risk. Read more

I don’t understand the obsession with destroying our ecosystems? I think the people pushing for these policies should take a course or two in environmental stewardship. It must just be lack of education, I desperately hope it’s not lack of care for these issues. Read more
