I have spent much of my adult life promoting conservation. It pains me to see the disregard that this government has for the biodiversity in Ontario. We cannot keep building over farmland and at risk habitat for the sake of moving forward faster. Read more

Don't narrow the definition of habitat. Recovery depends on future restoration zones. Reinstate the advisory committee. We need oversight. Reverse the exclusion of aquatic species and migratory birds. Stop the exemption of permits from public comment. Protect evidence based conservation. Read more

In these dangerous times, any stripping away of essential protections is a backwards (in every sense of the word) step for all of us. These tiny and defenceless creatures are worth more than any amount of money. Their lives cannot be the price for rich corporations to get richer.

Living near Georgian Bay, our community is very protective of the piping plovers that hatch a few eggs each summer. They still too frequently die before they mature and need our continurd protection. Read more

Scientific findings shouldn’t be politically vetoed. Protect evidence space conservation. Also, do not narrow the definition of ‘habitat’, recovery depends on our future restoration zones. Read more

In regards to the amendments being made to facilitate the Species Conservation Act, 2025 (SCA), I support many of the comments made by Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), among others, about the proposal of the SCA under the Protect Ontario by Unleashing the Economy Act. Read more
