In violation of the court order, the provincial government believes it's entitled to do whatever it wants. Well that is not the case. This legislation strips Ontario cities of the basic right to design their own streets for safety, sustainability, and community well-being. Read more

Bill 60 - Eliminating cycle tracks and dedicated transit lanes will exacerbate Toronto's traffic problem To improve traffic flow in Toronto, we need more cycle lanes and more dedicated transit lanes, and fewer cars on our limited road space. Read more

Shameful. A government that, 5 years ago, said they needed to protect cyclists. I've been a resident for over 10 years and support alternate forms of transit, specifically bike lanes Read more

Bike lanes are a critical part of modern transportation infrastructure. They help people travel quickly, in a healthy way, safely, without creating noise or air pollution, and cheaply. It makes no sense to make it harder to build bike lanes. Strongly oppose this bill.

This will in no way improve traffic and is not related to building homes faster. This is provincial overreach into municipal affairs that reduces local governments' ability to leverage local priorities and serve their communities. Read more

Leave the bike lanes. Make more of them, if you must do anything about bike lanes. Redesign traffic flow for safety rather than motorist-priority of road space. Just leave bike lanes. Read more

I object this draconian bill because: (1) It's higher undemocratic and authoritarian, depriving local governments and citizens of their power of decision to act for their own welfare. It concentrates all power in the hands of the minister. Read more

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed provisions in Bill 60 – Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025, which would prohibit the reduction of vehicle lanes for the creation of new bicycle lanes. Read more

This bill will worsen traffic in Toronto and simultaneously make it more dangerous for year- round bikers like me to commute in the city. The province should not undermine local authority and decision-making, especially when those decisions are supported by evidence and local residents. Read more

I am strongly opposed to Bill 60. As someone who works in municipal transportation space, I feel it is imperative to give municipalities the ability to make decisions about road space. Read more

I oppose this Bill 60 for the following reasons: It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Read more

This sounds like a poor use of public funds. By discouraging cycling, this is encouraging more motorized traffic, more traffic jams, and higher health costs from a less active population. Read more

This line of thinking seems so backwards. Many cities in Europe and Asia have cut lanes and seen traffic improve as a result of reducing lanes. Read more

The government's own experts have found repeatedly that bike lanes do not worsen gridlock, and it is outrageous that the Ford government wants to remove local autonomy in implementing new bike lanes. Read more

What a bad idea! Bike lanes reduce congestion and save lives. Moreover, the provincial government should take more care about infringing on municipal rights.

Bike lanes help all road users. They make driving safer and I support them wholeheartedly. Please do not ban new bike lanes. We need them. There are too many people for everyone to have a car. Read more

Bicycle lanes should be a municipal matter, since only local authorities know what works locally. Bill 60 makes the lanes political instead of understanding their safety and environmental benefits.
