This is a disastrous idea. Conservation Authorities should be left to local control of persons who understand local conditions and not to distant bureaucrats answering to the Provincial government . Read more

Unequivocally NO! We Ontarians can't trust the Ford government: Seems he wants environmental controls reduced. and protected lands stolen for his developer friends. This speed camera crap is to distract citizens from his real agenda Read more

Hello, I disagree with this proposal. Centralized provincial governance over local municipal expertise seems like too much government overreach. Instead the province should increase funding so the local authorities can work to increase their efficiencies.. Read more

This is a terrible idea. Leave the conservation authority alone. Builders, developers, lenders, realtors, and the entire, but singular, industry that benefits will survive. Nature and pre-existing basements won't. Read more

I'm very concerned about the lack of initiative shown by the provincial government towards Ontario's nature. This proposal sounds like a cut, and will take the province in the wrong direction. We need more robust conservation. Please fund it adequately.

As someone who had first had experience working at the Essex Region Conservation Authority and saw the breadth of local knowledge available by my colleagues, I vehemently disagree with the proposal to amalgamate conservation authorities across the province into 7 new entities. Read more

This is an anti environment move. Premier Ford has gone back on previous promises to not touch the GreenBelt. Why trust him in this? Ford’s government has shown itself to be more focused on building ( unnecessary) highways than protecting us from flooding and other effects of the climate crisis. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed consolidation of Ontario’s 36 Conservation Authorities (CAs) into seven regional bodies, as outlined in the recent proposal posted on the Environmental Registry of Ontario. Read more

I think consolidating the Conservancy areas is a great idea. Most of the boards are on big power trips and stop development. I just hope that the front line employees don't lose their jobs. That would be too bad. But the boards of directors need to be taken down a peg or two or many more. Read more

I think the consolidation of Conservation Authorities (CA) into seven would be a complete disaster for the natural health of Ontario. The natural environment is complex and so different in each of the 36 CA presently. Read more
