I am urging your government not to further weaken Ontario's environmental protections by "consolidating" the conservation authorities. This will prevent most areas of the province from having people dedicated to advocating for their specific needs, due to losing personnel and positions. Read more

This amalgamation makes sense and I am in support. There are many small conservation authorities that have minimal resources and staffing who rely on borrowing and using resources from others. Some CAs are as small as 10-30 staff. Read more

What would be the cost for changing 36 conservation authorities branding into 7? Between websites, uniforms, logos and other branding the cost must best astronomical. Has anyone done a cost analysis to see what the cost of this would be?

Why is it ever time a conservative government is elected in Ontario , they attack conservation authorities, happening now, happened with mike Harris. Authorities work, dedicated staff, knowledge of local issues, protection of wetlands and water supplies. Leave them alone, quit destroying Ontario

I live in Belleville Ontario and regularly use my local conservation areas for hiking. I also turn to them for information on flooding and droughts. In my experience local Conservation staff are in the best position to provide this expertise about the area that they live in. Read more

I strongly object to the proposed regional consolidation of Ontario's conservation authorities. We need local input and management of our watersheds as they support good planning and permitting decisions, protect wetlands and assess flood risk and keep local communities safe.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this important matter. The government is right to want a conservation authority system that is more consistent, transparent and efficient, especially when it comes to supporting housing and economic growth. Read more

I am not in support of this proposal. The amalgamated CA's are way too large, we need more than 7 regions. The CA's will lose their local knowledge and control. This will significantly slow down the process and development. Read more

As a farmer and businessman, I am not in favor of the changes. We work too hard to manage and work with the land to have someone miles away tell us what we can and can't do with it. We need local communities to be involved and we will lose our voice. These 7 CAs are far too big and far away. Read more

Although I understand that housing and infrastructure are super important to the future - and present - of our province and that saving money is also key, consolidating these conservation authorities is not worth it to meet these goals. Read more

This is a solid idea and should’ve been done a long time ago. We don’t need these authorities with inflated titles and pay cheques of CAO, GM, Directors, etc for an organization of 15-30 people. Or a separate finance division for each small CA. Read more

Do not consolidate the conservation authorities. You doing this will gut and destroy Ontario. You doing this will cause environmental disasters for local communities and amenities. Since th Ford governments take over flooding has increased across Ontario. Read more
