I feel that conservation is regionally specific and that they are intimately acquainted with the specifics of a region. I don’t believe that they would be as accessible, accountable or as effective if consolidated. Read more

We are not North Bay or Toronto. When is the govt going to see that. Thunder Bay Ontario is unique. Do not mess around with our Conservation authority for Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. I am sick and tired of being forgotten when it comes to this government. Read more

I do not support this. Consolidation, efficiencies, offering "choices"...so much corpo-speak to deregulate, financialize and dismantle environmental protections. We need to collectively protect and support these delicate natural systems. Read more

I am concerned that this proposal will do more harm than good, by removing the specific areas of focus for conservation areas you reduce their ability to assist their communities effectively; they'll be stretched to thin. Read more

Consolidation of the conservation authorities brings risk of loss of local, regional expertise. Conservation authorities are currently based on watershed boundaries, and are therefore have the best knowledge and jusdictional base to manage watershed-specific issues. Read more

I do not trust the Ford government to continue, let alone, improve the conservation efforts for protecting our ravines and flood plains. I live in an area where The TRCA has been cut back and told not to object to extensive development in and around the ravine in which i live. Read more

My biggest concern is that there is no CA for the Muskoka watershed. We have had serious issues with flooding, poor planning on the construction of new homes/cottages in flood plans, and an accelerated degradation of the water quality in our region. Read more

This is a terrible idea as it reduces the ability of conservation authorities to to manage the detail of issues within their domain with less staff. I means attention to fine detail in small environmental areas will be ignored so the bigger issues can be dealt with. Read more

I am strongly opposed to merging the 36 conservation authorities to a comparatively measly 7. This will greatly reduce the amount of work that can be done, decrease efficiency, and increase response time substantially. Read more

I strongly disaagree with the proposal to consolidate Ontario's conservation authorities. These authorities play a critical role in the preservation of our environment and should not be dismantled or tinkered with in any way.

Our varying environments need specialized groups protecting them and those who live in them. This proposal does not serve the people and the environment, only short term greed. Ford and those who work with his mind deer are already responsible for damaging our land and peoples’ wellbeing. Read more

This is a terrible approach. We need to protect our environment more than ever, and that requires local understanding and approaches to solve the complex problems of today’s world. We should not prioritize faster permitting approval for development, because we need to reduce development.

Reducing the number of conservation authorities from 18 to just seven is a further blow to an already troubled system, at a time when ecosystems face more challenges than ever, due to climate change and human encroachment. Please reconsider this change. Read more

I think the plan to consolidate the regions will lower the protection of our watersheds and conservation areas. The government should be increasing funding for local control and governance of these important public spaces. Read more
