Watersheds are extremely important. Our water quality and quantity are both threatened. Local on the ground knowledge is vital to decision making. I think by making the areas larger municipalities will lack the ability to input their knowledge based opinions.

Hiawatha Highlands is a key part of Sault Ste. Marie's community. It is very well managed by the local SSMRCA who had many unique partnerships with local organizations that use the conservation areas.
