This idea makes no sense. It will do nothing but harm the regions that the conservation authorities are there to protect. Taking care of the different areas really requires specialized knowledge, connections, and actions. The needs across Ontario are not uniform. Read more

1. The consolidation of conservation authorities (CAS) is unwise since local knowledge of the local environmental needs must be maintained. 2. If it is to go ahead it must ensure that local input from environmental experts already employed with a CA is retained. Read more

I wholeheartedly disagree with this motion, especially for my hometown in Niagara. The Niagara Conservation Authority has been operating with locals needs in mind since its inception, and it’s important to keep these decisions local. Read more

This proposal will do nothing to improve oversight of watershed in Niagara. Other than remove control and thebability to.participate in decision making, I cannot see what benefit this proposal has for the citizens who reside in the effected areas. Bad for citizens, amd bad for the environment!

I don’t feel that bigger is necessarily better. Too often the government proposes amalgamation to deliver results more efficiently and at lower cost, only to produce an unwieldy bureaucracy that takes forever to get things done, and loses sight of local concerns. Read more

The reasons for this change should be made public. Otherwise why change it? There may be very valid reasons, but people like myself are unaware. This leads to suspicion, and anger. The taxpayers of this province deserve to treated with respect. Read more
