The Conservation Authorities are many because of the rivers in their areas. Local Conservation Authorities allow direct input into planning and education for their watershed. Fewer CA’s eliminates the opportunity to work with landowners in a purposeful and meaningful way. Read more

I do not support the consolidation of Ontario's conservation authorities. This proposal reduces the current 36 regional entities into seven, geographically huge entities. It is unclear how accountability from the Regional Conservation Authority will be maintained to the local municipalities. Read more

It is a mistake to fix something that’s not broken, in this case, the original conceptual model of the Conservation Authorities and the watersheds as they were drawn up decades ago in response to the catastrophic flooding of Hurricane Hazel. Read more
