The proposed boundaries for the regional consolidation of Ontario’s conservation authorities is an utterly disgraceful attempt to destroy more of the environment and make it more difficult to protect the land, people and planet. This bill must be repealed immediately. Read more

It is true there is a wide variation in technical capacity at CA's that can sometimes impede sound decision making but this only because the province has substantively under funded the CA's for more than 25 years when the pulled a shared funding mode with municipalities. Read more

Conservation authorities serve as local voices on sustainable community development. Bill 68 consolidates conservation areas and gives the province oversight on these areas. This is not in the best interest of the people of Ontario. Read more

I would like to state my opposition to the proposed amalgamation/reorganization of Ontario's Conservation Authorities. Simply put you cannot properly carry-out the important environmental stewardship on local watersheds, without a focused local presence. Read more

This will undermine the conservation attempts and species at risk. Conservations are already stretched thin, our species of flora and fauna have little spaces to call home and this will undoubtedly bring some to the brink of extinction. Read more

We love the lakehead conservation authority! It does alot of good in our community and it is very important to have northern representation in this area. We traveled today from Thunder Bay to Southern Ontario and watched the landscape change. Read more

We work in the field where we are in direct contact with local conservation authorities being very concerned about the amalgamation of CA's knowing that each area is very different in topography, and knowledge or local CA's is important. Read more

I think they should remain the same. This way each area has more control over their area. I have seen too often when there is a massive take over the larger areas get what they want and forget the little guy. Hopefully each area can talk with each other if needed
