As a resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario, I am highly concerned and strongly opposed to the Province’s proposal to amalgamate the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) with six Southern Ontario conservation authorities to create the “Huron–Superior Regional Conservation Authority.” I support Read more

As a resident of Eastern Ontario and the chair of a land stewardship organization comprised of community volunteers, I strongly object to the amalgamation of Ontario's 36 Conservation Authorities into 7 huge regional groups, specifically Schedule 3 of Bill 68. Read more

I am opposed to consolidating Conservation Authorities into a few large entities. The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority has done, and will continue to do, the utmost in servicing this area of Thunder Bay and its surrounding region. Read more

Reducing the amount of Conservation Authorities does not solve problems. Conservation Authorities are established in wide reaching enough areas, they do not need to be consolidated. What pur Conservation Areas need is better access to funding and staff. Read more

I do not see a benefit to such a large consolidation. Protecting local natural resources is extremely important. People need to work on and live near the regions they are working to protect and upkeep.

I’m writing to oppose the proposed new boundaries for conservation authority consolidation. The plan feels disconnected from how Ontario’s watersheds actually function and seems driven more by administrative convenience than environmental protection. Read more

The creation of the Ontario Provincial Conservation Agency, and otherwise providing centralized leadership, efficient governance, strategic direction, and oversight is an idea I could support, and is one that will provide consistency across the various RCAs. Read more

This move plays right into the regressive playbook: consolidate and remove public agencies that support the public while expanding the potential for sleazy hustles like the 1st failed attempt to build on the greenbelts

The amalgamation of the conservation authorities is a politically motivated weakening of our environment, it reduce our protections of it. The green belt, weakening of the endangered species act, and removal of ES's has proven that doug ford will do any underhanded thing to get his way. Read more

I wish to express my concern about the proposed changes to the Conservation Authorities. The present system allows residents direct access to their conservation authority and feel that their input is better used in this system. Read more

Sounds like you're end goal is to eliminate any resistance to development no matter what damage that development may cause. Why else do this. Oh ya, must be the push back from Dougies developer buddies that are still pissed about the money they didn't get to make due to the Green Belt fiasco. Read more
