The merger between LRCA in Thunder Bay and a conservation area from Southern Ontario is by far the worst bit of political nonsense I have heard in awhile. Where they are has NOTHING TO DO with where we are. Read more

Getting rid of local conservation authorities is a gift to Dougie's grifting developer friends, nothing more. Doug is willing to pave over every last wetland and farmland Ontario possesses in order to give profits to his friends, who will give millions of dollars to his party chest. Read more

Centralizing these responsibilities into a large regional authority will erode the local expertise, responsiveness, and decision-making that our municipalities and residents rely on within their communities. This also means less collective funding to steward and restore the environment. Read more

The objectives outlined in the ERO posting could be achieved through the existing conservation authority framework. In fact, the Province already holds the legislative authority needed to implement the consistency, transparency, and modernization that it seeks. Read more

I'm so disappointed to hear of the lack of support for the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks. We should be enhancing the support for ministries that supply support for nature corridors, endangered species, etc. Please consider the children of today! Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed consolidation of conservation authorities. I believe it’s essential that local autonomy is maintained to ensure adept evaluation of environmental conditions and to direct implementation of correct conservation practices.

I am opposed to the merging of Conservation Authorities because the planned huge mergers would create Authorities that can not deal effectively with local issues. Local issues need local Authorities to plan and deal with them properly. Please do not merge our Conservation Authorities. Thank you.

I do not support this. The conservation Authorities need to stay at a local level. This will help manage them at a local level, better and faster funding where it is needed. If it is not left local it will cause delays and more bureaucracy.
