This is a terrible idea. Bill 5 exempts entire regions from provincial laws and environmental safeguards through the the creation of “special economic zones” – creating dangerous precedence for further development and damage in addition to the clear danger of these zones in general.

I strongly oppose Bill 5. We need strong environmental protections and should oppose short cuts for industry. The new law the Ontario government has claimed is about “protecting Ontario” is actually designed to do just the opposite.
