I am concerned that the new proposal will eliminate necessary protections and impact the environment negatively by allowing economic contacts precedent over natural spaces. I do not agree with Bill 5 as it subverts indigenous rights attacks species protections and clean energy.
I do not trust this government to prioritize the protection of endangered species or the critical habitats they depend on. Time and time again, their actions have favored development over conservation, putting vulnerable ecosystems at risk.

This bill should streamline environmental regulations to make their consideration more transparent and efficient. However, this should not mean that special economic zones are exempt from their consideration. Nor should protections of endangered species be abandoned.

There is a reason there are environmental protections. We cannot rely in the ethics of companies to keep our lands protected from exploitation and once it’s ruined it is hard to recover a whole ecosystem. Let’s protect our environment for ourselves, the animals and future generations!

I oppose bill 5 and believe that strong environmental protections are vital to the health and future of our environment and ultimately for the continuation of the human species.
I am against Bill 5. We need stronger environmental protections. Not less. And not corporate greed trampling on our environment. We as humans need this ecosystem to survive!!
