Any softening of rules is completely inappropriate. There is ample land for housing without interfering with natural environments. Nature is one of the things that makes Ontario great. Once it's gone, it's gone.

The government should not have a blanket ability to override the decisions of the council and remove species protections, that one point makes everything else in here nothing but lip service

These changes will just be removing more barriers for corporate greed to pave paradise. The world is a dumpster fire right now, Ontario can do its part by protecting the non-human animals, etc. that reside here as well. Gutting these pieces of legislation is wrong.

We cannot and must not further compromise the integrity of our environment for the sake of the economy. Balance with the species who share our planet is critical, and removing protections from the most vulnerable is extremely dangerous.
