So, the government will get to choose which species to remove from the list based on what projects it wants to push forward, not on whether they're actually endangered. There will be no proper oversight committee independent from the government. Read more

I object to this, it will cause harm to the wild life. If we decide to take away land from everyone ans everywhere then life becomes over whelming to find homes. This is so wrong how do you all not see this . We need trees and animals to live. Read more

This is a gutting of the endangered species act and will ultimately make Ontario worse, not better. Don’t do this. We get one planet. Violating the protections already in place is not the way forward, and the environmental actions we take locally are just as important as global initiatives. Read more

Please don't, things that are worthwhile take time and consideration and aren't easy. Our country has values that are more important than quick profit. Be a leader not a follower.

These changes are meant to allow the current conservative Ontario government to ignore the plight of endangered species and allow developers to destroy important habitat in favour of making money with cheaply built single family homes. Read more

It seems that you are just avoiding doing any of the hard work involved in protecting our environment. I agree that many of our environmental laws can be opaque and contradicting. Read more

I strongly oppose this proposal, which would significantly weaken Ontario’s environmental protections under the guise of streamlining infrastructure development. Our natural ecosystems are not obstacles to development — they are the very foundation of our health, economy, and quality of life. Read more

Our family is shocked that the government is not taking species at risk of extinction seriously. These species have evolved over a billion years only to be permanently killed by a highway? Read more

This proposal is unacceptable. Endangered species must be protected at all costs - and this protection must extend to more than just the animal itself, it must include its habitat and food sources that it requires to live. Read more

In no liveable world is it the correct course of action to give up protections for endangered species. Stop taking notes from the USA on what is possible and start thinking about what is right. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Do not do this. Process and procedure save lives. Read more

Do NOT cut or weaken this act. Our land is the most important thing we have. Building in these sensitive areas is unnecessary, and against everything we should be striving to be as a country. Read more

By protecting endangered animals from extinction for short term gains we risk biodiversity. There are many scientific peer reviewed works that show the direct link to a healthy and productive human population and biodiversity. Or the lack their of when opposite. Read more

This is a massive mistake. We are in the throws of a massive climate catastrophe and should be doing absolutely everything we can to protect endangered (and all) species. Stop destroying our planet.

This is Canada. We are known for the beauty of nature and land, which of course includes all of the living things that call this land home. We as humans are not more important than the other living creatures that share the land with us. Read more
