I live near Ontario Place. I’ve seen firsthand the devastation the construction has done to the wildlife there. Displaced coyotes now roam my neighbourhood. All the rare migrating birds who made their nests there have no home.

This act is a reckless abuse of power that would allow developers to decimate the populations of endangered species. The current checks and balances should be upheld to protect our natural spaces at all costs
The changes to permitting processes in Bill 5 will lead to increased development without proper safeguards. We need a more transparent and environmentally responsible approach.

I oppose any changes to the ESA, 2007 that would remove, undermine, or weaken protections for endangered species that live, migrate, or stop over in Ontario! Habitat for animals, plants, and other organisms, especially endangered ones, should be protected and, where possible, improved.

This is not favourable to the general public or the province of Ontario in the long run, especially given the climate crisis we are facing. Please reconsider these changes.
Economic growth is important, but saving species at risk is more important! Ecosystems depend on several species to continue with other species; to combat climate change, global warming, to have good weather, not too dry, prevent floods, and droughts, trees, food for animals, plants, and humans.
