Please do not pass Bill 5. It will not benefit the people or the lands of Ontario, only private, already wealthy developers. In the era of climate crisis these lands need to be protected, not sold off. No to Bill 5!

I oppose bill 5, I want strong environmental protections. This green belt is crucial for the animals and insects to safely cross through migration paths. I oppose short cuts for industry. This is not going to help our future generation, and the well-being of the land we live on.
I oppose the passage of Bill 5 because I believe it will weaken existing environmental protections, health standards, and local planning rules. The government should not be allowed to exempt entire areas from all of the existing protections in place.
While balance between commercial requirements and environmental needs is important, I do not feel that government should be permitted to add or remove species from the COSSARO. What is the use of an independent science based body like COSSARO if the government can arbitrarily override it?
