Once a habitat is destroyed or an endangered species becomes extinct, there is no reversing these adverse events This also applies to a loss of farm land to produce food Cities need to be thinking up NOT outward spread We should not be destroying the planet for short term financial gain Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5 and its proposed changes to Ontario’s Endangered Species Act (ESA). Ontario’s ESA was once one of the strongest legislations for biodiversity protection globally. Read more

I am a life-long resident of Ontario, and I object to this proposal. Part of Ontario's beauty is in its diverse wildlife, including many endangered and vulnerable species that are protected by the ESA. Read more

PLEASE do not go through with Bill 5!!! It is not well thought out and it's not necessary. Ontario needs to do a much BETTER job at protecting our endangered species that live here. More development and fewer environmental protections are NOT the way to go in this Province. Read more

The environment is too critical for us to gut like this. Please protect our environment and it’s living things. We rely on biodiversity and there is no amount of money that can “rehabilitate” what we decimate.

This is a disgrace. This bill brings shame onto Ontario and should not be allowed to pass. We will lose our biodiversity and cause death and suffering to so much wildlife. Citizens of Ontario do not want this!!

The MNO is concerned about: - the exclusion of species recovery from the purpose of The Species Conservation Act; - the narrow definition of habitat, which reduces protections on populations; - the lack of temporal and spatial parameters in the definition of habitat; Read more

It’s critical to preserve the endangered species act. Our ecosystems are increasingly suffering and the protection of our endangered species is critical to maintain a healthy environment for Canadians, which directly relates to housing needs and health needs.

We believe that our current government is unwisely weakening protections for Ontario's lakes, streams, forests and the species living there. While housing and our economy are important, a healthy environment and living space for all nature's species are more important. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections for endangered species. I oppose short cuts for industry with no public oversight. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones. Read more
