I oppose this bill. We need to protect nature, not dismantle it. There are other ways to deal with housing and honestly this isn’t it. If only we started building 7 years ago. Build up not out and keep nature a top priority. Read more

As someone who believes in our world, or at least our country having a full and glorious future, I recognize how important the ESA is. We as a people have intelligence to think on what we are doing, and have hands to help those around us. Animals are absolutely included in that. Read more

The ecosystems of Ontario must be protected to the most rigorous standard. Our local fauna and flora are unquantifiable treasures, and there is no number or convenience that justifies diminishing them.

Under absolutely no circumstance do I endorse abolishing the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA), and I am deeply offended by the misleading language in this proposal and the implication developers should be allowed to voluntarily decide which actions would harm endangered species and how much they s Read more

It is in the best interests of the current and future species covered by these Acts that these changes not take place. The Ford government, nor any future government, cannot be trusted with this kind of power. Read more

These proposed changes to Ontario’s species at risk legislation would seriously undermine the protection currently afforded by the act to species that we are at risk of losing. It prioritizes economic development over scientific oversight and habitat protection. Read more

This is a ridiculous proposal. I understand wanting to eliminate redundancies between federal and provIncial policies, but this act is so important for species at risk. The proposed changes have a much smaller scope and would not adequately protect vulnerable species. Read more

I object to Bill 5 and its changes. I believe that there needs to be more government oversight over these matters as these limited species will be impacted more by any damage done to them and their habitat than to us.
