Doug Ford, what will you have in the next 4 years? Profits at the expense of thousands of species that benefited the people and land you stand on… becoming extinct at the expense of a reckless decision you made? Read more

This bill allows governments to make decisions to harm endangered species wherever it pleases and undercuts the rights of Indigenous peoples and of communities. This is not okay. Read more

I feel betrayed that my government has decided to push through a plan to fast track development in areas that should be guarded against this type of use. We need density not more sprawl. Traffic will only get worse if the core cause of the problem isn’t addressed.

I strongly oppose the weakening of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act and the creation of a parallel “Species Conservation Act.” This opens the door to habitat destruction, greenwashing, and offsetting that does not work. Read more

Hi there, Thank you for the work you do for Ontarians. This note asks that you do NOT change the Endangered Species Act (2007), and replace with another Act which is less stringent. Read more

I have been living in Ontario for the last 8 years and I fell in love with its nature and respect for wild life. This bill no only can bring multiple species to extinction as a result, but also launch a domino effect that would come back to human populated places. Read more

I am deeply opposed to the attack on biodiversity protections which will result from the passage of Bill 5. It will accelerate species extinctions and will give developers an easy path to harm vulnerable wildlife without strong oversight or science-based decision-making. Read more

I strongly object to the Endangered Species repeal. We must not prioritize building on conservation efforts. Voluntary initiatives like habitat restoration that protect and conserve species cannot be enforced, they are voluntary. Read more

I am against bill 5. I oppose threat to our endangered species and shortcuts for industry. Industry should have public oversight. This is a slippery slope to being reaped of our natural habitat, resources and environment behind closed doors. As a Canadian, as an Ontarians I say NO to bill 5.

I oppose bill 5. We need to keep pir environmental laws strong in order to protect the environment and all species, especially endangered. We need to protect our forests and wetlands and lakes and especially indigenous land. We need to stop making a profit from the land and animals. Read more

Please do not do this. We do not want this. It is not just, nor is it wise. Uphold treaty rights and respect these lands and waters. The Earth is not here for our consumption or exploitation.

I object to the changes proposed by this act. I have a degree in natural environment and have conducted field work in Northern Ontario focusing. Endangered species are endangered for a reason, often because of human activity. Read more

The definition of a habitat should remain the same. By limiting it you are only looking at what the species directly use and not what they may need in the near or far future. I think it is better to stay on the safer side. Read more

This proposal would strip habitat protections and allow developers to destroy the homes of vulnerable wildlife. Overpriced real estate development isn't worth it and we should protect the beautiful nature of Ontario, not destroy it.
