I don’t support Bill 5. It feels like a step backwards for how we treat wildlife in Ontario. Instead of focusing on science and humane solutions, this bill seems to make it easier to harm animals that are just trying to survive. Read more

I vehemently oppose the proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025. The proposed changes do not reflect the biology of most of the Species living in our Province. Please, we need to protect our Species at risk. I beg you. Read more

This is unacceptable and a terrible idea please reevaluate or be honest. This is not because of tariffs and even if it is it's not appropriate to make such a big irreversible decision based on the erratic behavior of an inconsistent president. Read more

Please keep the ESA unchanged for the protection of animals and the environment for me and my family (and especially because sacrificing endangered animals and plants on the altar of overpriced real-estate development is so unnecessary and frankly pretty evil). Read more

Keep the Endangered Species Act. Repealing this act will allow the destruction of fragile wildlife. We must guard endangered species so they are around for our great grandchildren! Once land is torn up, paved over and built on, the natural habitats cannot be recovered.

We have a duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves from people who would exploit for personal gain. These revisions to the endangered species act are effectively dismantling those protections that have been thoughtfully put into place. Read more

I have only experienced more and more LIGHT and NOISE POLLUTION in GTA for the past 30 years. We have been quick in physical "development" but lacking actual emotional and mental maturity to take real responsible actions. Read more

I am writing to strongly oppose Bill 5: the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act and its dangerous proposals, including the creation of Special Economic Zones, the weakening of Ontario’s endangered species protections, and the exemption of the Eagle’s Nest mine from an environmental review. Ontario’s Endangered Species Act was a ground breaking legislation on protections for the most vulnerable species. However, repealing the act threatens to end most meaningful protections for endangered, threatened and special concern species and their habitat. Read more

This is shameful. Does the Ontario government really care so little about endangered species? Housing can be built without destroying the natural habitats of species most at risk. Read more

There are at least 291 species of birds that breed in the province of Ontario. Not least of all, the Common Loon, the provincial bird of Ontario. The common Loon is a bird that relies on aquatic environments for food and safe places to raise its young. Read more

I do not support this proposal. I think that the responsibility of government, whether provincial, municipal, or federal, cannot and should not be solely to economic development. The government is also responsible for the long term stewardship of both people and nature. Read more

This is an outrageously irresponsible, shirt sighted and dangerous Bill that threatens the health and vitality of our province in every facet. Preserving Ontario’s delicate ecosystems and the biodiversity within them is critical to maintaining healthy sustainable communities. Read more
