I strongly oppose this legislation and I'm appalled that a Government of Ontario, supposedly acting in the best interests of its constituents, would suggest that Bill 5 is the best way to protect Ontario’s economy. Read more

Do not go through with this proposed act because it does not account for the actual function of ecosystems and would be a huge detriment to the local species, flora and fauna. There is no way that this proposal protects the environment in any appropriate manner.

There is a reason the process is slow, and it is to protect sensitive ecosystems from being bulldozed in the name of “progress.” Please do not make future generations pay for these anti-science decisions. Under no circumstances should the Species Conservation Act replace the Endangered Species Act.

Please do not eliminate the Endangered Species Act. The emphasis for economic growth should not come at the cost of losing vital habitat for wildlife, especially endangered species. Read more

Progress is not always measured by the ease of which we can build roads and buildings. Some of Ontarios's best features are it's green spaces and its commitment to wildlife and water protections. Read more

I oppose this Act and its enabling of the Ford administration to skip established procedures. No project should be above rules, Acts, Regulations, Instruments (such as municipal by-laws) or conditions. We need to understand risks in order to mitigate them. Read more

Absolutely not. No. Address the housing crisis by connecting maximum rent permitted to the median wage within a 30 minute drive. Impose residency requirements so condos aren’t bought up my real estate speculators and turned into short-term rentals. Increase tax on second and third (and more) homes. Read more

Hello, I am very concerned about this proposal and do not support it. It does not seem to provide adequate protection for nature and does not reflect the values of Canadians who care about the protection of the natural environment and biodiversity. Read more

I have five major concerns with Bill 5: It will exempt certain projects from the Environmental Assessment Act, eliminating comprehensive analysis focused on human health and safety; It weakens the mining oversight of the Mining Act and curtails public consultation; Read more

The proposition to repeal the Endangered Species Act is not only an affront to ecological integrity, but Ontario's unique cultural identity. As an Ontarian, I consider our wilderness to be a source of great provincial pride. Read more
