The vast majority of Ontario is comprised of provincially managed public lands, and provincial listings are meant to protect the habitat of at-risk species here as they’re not covered under federal law — similar to private lands. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed elimination of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act and the shift toward voluntary habitat protection. This is not just a bureaucratic change — it is a profound betrayal of our shared responsibility to protect life. Read more

Beautiful and accessible nature+wildlife is an incredibly strong draw for the tourism industry in Ontario and Canada as a whole. Please don't sacrifice one healthy and operational industry that's already bringing in millions in the name of another. We can have both.

We need to be doing more for our fragile ecosystem. This means protecting our flora and fauna, not destroying it for greed. It's disgusting these changes are even being considered. Ford needs to do better.

Please help to preserve our endangered wildlife & do not change the endangered species act. We lose too many birds as is through cats & window strikes. Lots of people enjoy bird watching and walking within nature for the betterment of mental health.

We are facing a global biodiversity crisis. In Ontario alone, more than 230 plant and animal species are currently at risk. These species depend on the province’s healthy forests, wetlands, and waters; ecosystems that also sustain the well-being of all Ontarians. I urge your government to: Read more

This is unbacceptable. He's trying to cut back on everything in Ontario, most of Ontario didn't even vote this election. Why should Ford get to decide what's best for Ontario? Most people could be a Premiere and make the decision not to... Read more

This is awful and typical of the Ford Government. This and similar changes that have come to allow for development to bypass safety measures to protect our environment are the last things we need. Read more

I object to the very narrow definition of 'habitat'. Creatures do not just inhabit a 'den' or 'nest'. Like us they have their surrounding support system which provides what they need to survive. Read more

I’m writing to share my concern about the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act and how they might impact Ontario’s bird populations. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, I’ve seen how much bird populations have declined. Read more
