The Bill would repeal the Endangered Species Act, leaving in its place a shell that contains no meaningful rules for species protection. The Bill would also hand virtually unlimited power to the Provincial Cabinet, through the proposed Special Economic Zones Act.

While I support making the construction approval process more efficient, I do not believe this should come at the expense of the environment. Decisions affecting our natural ecosystems should be guided by scientists and experts—not developers or bureaucrats.

Strongly disagree with the proposal and changes involved. It should be in our best interests to keep these lands untouched. We should all do our part to help preserve what's left of our natural settings and wildlife.
I oppose Bill 5. It guts protections, ignores science, and tramples Indigenous rights. Scrap it. Nobody wants to explain to future generations what a turtle was.
