The “red tape” that so distresses the framers of this bill exists for a reason. The environmental protections exist for a reason. Businesses will not respect the environment or the people who live in it unless they are forced to. This has been proven time and time again. Read more

I'm very concerned that this bill allows development decisions that permanently affect people's lives and polute land without democratic process. The motive for this bill seems to be to allow a trampling of rights to benefit a few while ignoring local concerns. Read more

I stand in opposition to this bill. The bill waters down rules that protect endangered species and natural heritage sites, maintain oversight of mining activities, require respect for constitutionally guaranteed Indigenous Rights and mandate environmental assessments and protections. Read more

I do not want these changes made to provincial legislation. I do not see the Provincial Government taking any steps to properly consult, much less obtain informed consent from, the Indigenous nations on this Bill and its probable consequences for one thing. Read more
