This is not cool to allow the pits to use the natural water supply, there is a cost to doing business and bringing in there own water should be one of those cost, not taking from the river! I can not believe that this is okay with anybody.
As a concerned neighbour and as a concerned person for the environment, I am against taking water from the underground table 24 hours a day, 365 days a year!
How can anybody be OK to consume and pollute our precious waterlike this?

Please do NOT allow this permit. As it is a category 3, it will have significant impact on our community. I live on the banks of Saugeen river and work hard to maintain its natural state. Please please please do not allow this permit.
This application should be denied. A fullsome public information session with FULL disclosure has not happened. This will most definitely affect the environment and many species as well as the whole connected water system.

Have impacts on surrounding water table, wells and local watersheds and waterways and Great Lakes been considered? Appears likely to have an extremely detrimental impact on local community users and natural environment. Same story as the mega quarry in the Shelburne Headswaters region years ago.
The proposal as stated is absolutely a backhanded and covert way to go around environmental regulations. It is insulting to the intelligence of the people who reside in this area.

This is a terrible idea. It will have a huge impact on the watershed and surrounding environment. I am 100% against the possibility to draw water 24 hours a day over a 10 year period.
How is it even possible that a Category 3 permit can proceed without full notification to landowners that will be impacted and without a public process? Water is a semi-renewable resource. We cannot take at will, without proper controls and expect it to renew itself.

We are in a climate crisis which means water is now more than ever a precious resource that needs to be protected. The severity of weather in the years ahead is not known and extreme caution is required with our watersheds. Please say NO to this water taking permit
The Saugeen River and its tributaries, including the Styx River are valuable freshwater water resources and support a healthy but threatened trout population.
