I am concerned that the amount of water that they are applying for will have significant on the Saugeen River. It has been identified as a Category 3 impact which is likely to have an altering affect on aquatic vegetation and dependent wildlife
Water is one of the most precious and essential resources we have. A business should not been granted unbridled access to life giving water. We need Government to help protect four essentials for survival- clean air, clean abundant, accessible food supply, and appropriate shelter.
Water is a common good that belongs to everyone. It should not become a privatized commodity. The fact that other corporations have contracts to pay peanuts for water and make mega millions selling it, is shameful. This is Canada - not the US.

I am very concerned that this request for a Category 3 Permit to take water for a wash pond to be used for industrial aggregate washing will have a significant impact on the surrounding environment, potentially causing unacceptable interference and harmful environmental changes.

I can't believe this application is even being submitted. A representative from Walker, stated water will NEVER be taken. So much for trusting Walker! The application does not show the exact location of the water operation, but it is very, very close to the Saugeen River.

Why would you consider approving something with such a high risk of negative impact? What guarantees are there in place for those of us whose homes depend on this same ground water?
I strongly disagree with this petition for a permit to allow water extraction submitted by Walker Aggregates and ask the Ministry to disallow the activities requested in this permit. Water is our most precious resource. It is a necessity for all life, for humans, animals, insects, and plant life.
