Water is a fundamental human right. The water in the water table belongs to the people who live there and is not a commodity for the government and corporations to profit off of. It's the government's responsibility, on behalf of Ontarians and Canadians to protect the water rights of it's citizens.

It is high time that we discontinue selling a precious public resource such as this to commercial interests at ridiculously low prices. Bottled water represents a significant insult to our natural environment via unnecessary plastic waste. It is time to stop this ludicrous situation.

I'm concerned about allowing access to the aquifer by bottled water sellers. The long term implications of allowing these permits is at best not known and the risk of doing permanent damage is too great to allow access without complete confidence that no long-term harm is being done. Yes, I would like to see the moratorium extended for many reasons. I have been fighting for years to protect a very sensitive watershed in PEC from gravel extraction.
