I do not support water bottling companies taking from ground water to turn into bottled water especially if those bottles are made of plastic - it’s wasteful in terms of the energy spent in their facilities + the trucks sent to deliver them, as well as the bottles themselves if they are plastic. I strongly support this regarding corporations extracting groundwater in large quantities and reselling it to the general public. Ontario waters require permits and have limits for fishing, they should also be protected from corporate abuses as well.

Companies like Nestle should not have free reign to take groundwater, IF groundwater is to be extracted by a corporation to bottle and sell there should be fair payments to the municipality and province.

I see no need to allow commercial companies to take our ground water and sell it back to us for profit. I already pay for the water I use in my hometown through my municipality. Why would I allow a company to sell it to me? It's the same water I can get at my tap. Lire davantage
