This is a regulatory burden worth keeping so that generations of Ontarians have somewhere worth living in 25 years. Reducing toxic substances is an environmental concern that should always trump economic consideration. Lire davantage

I disagree with Bill 66. It is undemocratic to repeal and eliminate safeguards found in various acts, calling them "red tape". These acts were put into place to protect people, often after the fact to prevent various tragedies such as Walkerton from ever happening again. Lire davantage

I oppose the plan to repeal the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 and all associated regulations by December 31, 2021. The proposal will eliminate more than duplication with the federal program. As with everything, it is the details that are critical. Lire davantage

I do not support Bill 66. I do not support Schedule 5 and Schedule 10 under this Bill. It is undemocratic and lacks transparency. It would leave citizens without recourse. Community members would not be able to appeal open-for-business by-laws to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. Lire davantage

The repeal of this legislation concerns me because it would threaten human and wildlife health through increased exposure to toxic chemicals. Lire davantage

Bill 66 is a step towards the destruction of wetlands, woodlands, habitats and species across Ontario. It is a step towards the destruction of local drinking water management and in turn our public health. It is a step toward the destruction of farm land and the continuation of urban sprawl. I do not support Bill 66. I live in Hamilton, a city with industry and to repeal the Toxics Reduction Act puts our health at risk. Openness and transparency from our industries keeps the lines of communications open. And to Repeal the TRA is a bad idea. Lire davantage

To repeal this act would be foolish. We've come a long way to defend and protect the environment, and for anyone to think it's okay to ignore what we've come a long way to save is not acceptable. Lire davantage

It is very bad to repeal the Toxics Reduction Act (and the associated regulations). Ontario is a major generator of toxic materials and it is vitally important to reign in this toxic stew. The excuse of avoiding duplication with the federal government is just an excuse. Lire davantage

This proposal to remove the necessity to review, update or maintain an existing plan and exempt some facilities from future planning and reporting obligations is just as bad or worse than the proposal to repeal the Toxics Reduction Act. Lire davantage
