To dismantle ontarios green belt to allow more development for so called affordable housing would be setting such a terrible precedence. There is enough space already developed that can be a solution to our housing problems that doesn’t including paving over our dedicated green space. Lire davantage

I think this is an absolute travesty to the environment and our democracy. Doug Ford promised not to pave our Greenbelt and has lied to the citizens of this province. Ford claims that he has no choice because thousands of immigrants will be arriving in Ontario. Lire davantage

This effort to develop on the greenbelt is an attack on the environment and sustainability of the province. Not only do these protected lands provide homes for wildlife, but it also provides necessary land required for filtration of our groundwater supply. Lire davantage

This should not be needed at all since so much housing can be built on under utilized lands in already designated urban areas by revitalizing underutilized parking lots or brown fields that are not used and build housing like in Montreal or in Europe where multiple families can live in a house but n Lire davantage

What legislation is there to guarantee that developers build as early as 2023 and not later than 2025? In the description, it says there is an "expectation" to build as soon as possible. This should be legislated, and not "expected." Lire davantage

Find somewhere else to build houses that isn’t environmentally protected land. Doing so will worsen air quality, harm flora and fauna, and affect the water systems of the province. It would be extremely irresponsible to go ahead with this plan. Lire davantage

I am writing as a concerned citizen to voice my opposition to the proposed amendments to the greenbelt plan. I grew up around the greenbelt, and am passionate about its preservation. This plan sets a dangerous precedent and puts our greenbelt at risk of disappearing over time. Lire davantage

I think expanding into the greenbelt is a bad idea because, the fundamental issue of why our country is losing out in terms of being competitive is were not building our downtowns and making better use of the land space. Lire davantage

As an Ontario resident of 32 years, I am deeply saddened by this greenbelt plan. The destruction of significant wetlands, floodplain infringement, drinking water quality degradation are all major problems and we are gaining nothing of equivalent value for it. Lire davantage

This is wrong on so many levels. The planet is dying, and here is our Conservative Government, once again, attempting to break down the barrier of environmentally protected areas. Lire davantage

As a Conservative Party voter in the last few elections, I am heavily opposed to any change to the Greenbelt for development. I trusted the party when comments were publicly made by minister Clark saying, "We’re not going to entertain any conversations about a land swap” on the Greenbelt. Lire davantage

Are you kidding me? First, you keep trying to ram through legislation to allow you to develop the greenbelt, back down because of public pressure, then wait until you think no one else is looking to try it again. Lire davantage

It is absolutely unacceptable to destroy any part of the greenbelt! These areas are some of the few remaining intact ecosystems in an urban environment that has ruined all other green spaces around it. The greenbelt was created to protect one small but essential part of our natural environment. Lire davantage

I object this. The threat of what this could do to the environment greatly outweighs any possible benefit. Please consult a team of experts and post the findings online, along with a well documented background of each expert doing research so we can avoid any bias
