Bill 60 doesn’t make any sense. It would essentially act as a ban on new bike lanes across the province if they remove a lane of vehicle traffic - we need new forward thinkers and policies in place.

I do not support Bill 60, for the following reasons - It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Lire davantage

This sounds atrocious to me. It's going to have big problems: — It strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Lire davantage

I wish to state my opposition to Bill 60. I am concerned by many things in the bill both from both a practical and democratic point of view. Lire davantage

This bike lane ban will not reduce congestion. And your documents state it. All the evidence states it. And you know that the bike lane ban is dangerous. Attempting to prevent people from suing the government is proof that you know that. The only solution is to have viable altervatives to driving. Lire davantage

The Ford PC Government was elected in a massive majority with a mandate that includes addressing municipalities and activists hell-bent on peddling a San Francisco-based idealogy re: bike lanes. Lire davantage

Not supportive of this at all. Modern transportation - if you look to other modern nations such as those in Europe and Japan, means supporting all modes of transport. This just supports cars. No, do not pass this. Bad idea, wrong direction for the province. Lire davantage

I want to ride my bike safely and feel safe doing it. It gives me excellent exercise, fresh air, and an exhilaration that can not be found walking or driving in a car. Why are you, the Conservative government, making this harder for me and all those who want the same thing? Lire davantage

Bill 60 overrides local decision-making by centralizing control with the province. Municipalities lose autonomy over their own streets and transportation planning. Local communities are denied the opportunity to decide what infrastructure best suits their needs. Lire davantage

As president of a senior cycling club in Waterloo Region with 225 members and a wait list capped at 50, I wish to register our disappointment with the Ford's governments continued focus on reducing and restricting bike lanes, specifically in the current Bill 60. Lire davantage

This legislation flies directly in the face of evidence and represents an attack on the jurisdiction of specific municipalities. Further, it is a bad look on the government who is wasting millions of tax payer dollars to advance what appears to be a very personal agenda. Further points: Lire davantage

This proposal strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. It will worsen traffic congestion, not reduce it. The government’s own experts have consistently said that bike lanes are not a cause of gridlock. Lire davantage

Per the government proposal: “ Environmental Implications The proposed changes are intended to keep people and goods moving by creating more capacity on roads for vehicles and drivers. Traffic and congestion are a major source of air pollution especially in urban areas.” Lire davantage

This Bill is a disgrace to democracy and its a affront to the future of our children. It directly goes again climate initiatives to reduce climate change and will negatively impact current and future generations. Why does the province need to meddle in municipal government affairs. Lire davantage

I don't have a car and use my bike and also the bus. The bike is often more convenient, except when it is dangerous. Bike lanes are important for those of us who don't drive to get around. We deserve safe infrastructure too.

Bike lanes benefit business. Cyclists and pedestrians shop more frequently than drivers. A Toronto study (Bloor Street, 2017, University of Toronto/TCAT) found that after bike lanes were installed, sales increased 4.45% on that stretch — equal to or higher than areas without lanes. Lire davantage

I am vehemently against the proposition. As a mother to a toddler and a person that uses all kids of transportation (ttc, bike, walk and drive) I feel like the mesures proposed will increase the risk for my family making streets even more dangerous that they are now. Lire davantage
