I bike to work regularly, and safe, protected bike lanes make all the difference. They reduce stress, prevent crashes, and help me get around faster and more reliably. This bill strips cities of local authority to plan evidence-based transportation that residents actually support. Lire davantage

As a longtime bicycle rider in Toronto, I object to these blatant attempts to override the lawful installation of bicycle lanes in Ontario. These attempts to harm bicyclists' rights on the road are a violation of public safety. All road users are entitled to protection. Lire davantage

City councillors were duly elected by the residents of the city like toronto. If the residents don't like what city council is doing they can vote them out during the next election. The province should stay in their lane and allow cities and the residents to do what they were elected over. Lire davantage

Cities were duly elected by the residents such as toronto. Allow city council to build more safe bike lanes instead of butting into city politics. I'm sure the province has more than enough things to work on within your jurisdiction that every individual in the province is waiting for you to fix. Lire davantage

Separated bike lanes have been proven to be safe as all the data around the world says so. More people on bikes using the bike lane takes up less space than one person in a large vehicle. Stop with all the excuses of why people won't or is not able to ride a bike. Lire davantage

I am a new mother of a 7 month old baby boy. Prior to giving birth, I rode my bike from Roncesvalles neighbourhood to my office at Bay and Adelaide every day for work, making the effort to take bike lanes whenever possible. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my strongest opposition to Schedule 5 of Bill 60, which would prohibit municipalities from reducing a motor vehicle lane to install a new bicycle lane. This proposal is a severe, undemocratic, and dangerous act of provincial overreach founded on false premises. Lire davantage

Why is this even an argument? Bicycles and bike lanes reduce traffic and in Toronto we want them. Don't waste energy on this topic. Let Toronto get on with planning our own city ourselves. This whole topic should not be taking up time and energy from the province. Lire davantage

Bicycle lanes don’t slow traffic. Parked cars slow, and stop, traffic. Dedicate parking enforcement to move (and tow!) parked cars off main roads. Then all traffic, including bikes, can flow. Removal or blocking of bike lanes isn’t solving the problem and you know it. Lire davantage

As a resident of Ontario, I am strongly against Bill 60. It is concerning that the provincial government is looking to strips cities of local authority and decision-making, even when projects are supported by evidence and local residents. Lire davantage

Bike lanes decongest our city and offer an alternate to our terribly insufficient TTC system for lower income people. They make our city safer and more green. Any intention to limit expansion of bike lanes is not rooted in evidence or logic.

Stay out of municipal politics. If you want to be the Mayor of Toronto, run for that. Start acting like a Premier. Bike lanes are incredibly important to cities for safety, environment, and traffic. As someone who drives, transits, and bikes for commute having bike lanes is a must. Lire davantage

Dear Sir, Madam, I am against this bill in its current form. I don’t understand what the province trying to achieve through this act. If it is to truly save the people some commuting time by fighting transportation delays, this bill doesn’t address the real issues. Lire davantage

Completely against Schedule 5 of this bill. It doesn’t make any sense to increase motor vehicle traffic, and make it harder to build bike lanes as a means to reduce gridlock. There is evidence from the government’s own experts that bike lanes do not increase gridlock. Lire davantage

This bill is a terrible idea because it would actually worsen traffic congestion. All the evidence points to bicycle lanes reducing gridlock because safe cycling infrastructure allows more people to choose cycling as a mode of transportation. Lire davantage
