The lanes cause congestion that has crippled that corridor. There are never any bikers using the lanes down bloor west. I flat refuse to go and visit the local business because of the nightmare traffic and parking situation.

It is disappointing to see that we are moving backwards here in Ontario, trying to go back in time in stead of moving foreword. Ontario needs to move forewords by implementing new radical ideas. Lire davantage

I am a lifelong resident of Toronto. As both a motorist and cyclist, I am appalled by the blatant disregard for evidence-based decision-making in Bill 212. This legislation is deeply flawed and poses serious risks to public safety, health, and finances. Lire davantage

I appreciate that there is a need and demand for bike lanes...but there must also be a balance. I live just west of Bloor & Islington. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes will endanger my life and those of my loved ones Research has repeatedly shown that widening roads makes congestion worse We need to dramatically reduce carbon emissions, and encouraging people to bike is an important part of this reduction Lire davantage

Ontario's Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, which aims to improve transportation infrastructure and reduce traffic congestion, is a proposal that may sound promising on the surface, but upon closer examination, it reveals several flaws that could worsen the problem it seeks to address and ult Lire davantage

Please don't take away the bike lanes, it's a more health conscience way of getting around our large city. It removes cars from congesting in the downtown core. Please have some empathy for the rest of us that want to have a city for the next generation. Sincerely, Concerned citizen

Time to reduce the number of bike lanes. I’ve personally seen EMS vehicles stuck and unable to move on Willowdale Ave because half of each lane has been removed for bike lanes. The curbs don’t allow for any wiggle room for these vehicles. Lire davantage

As an Ontario tax payer I DO NOT support Bill 212. It is a waste of money. It removes important, life saving infrastructure - both for cyclists who use it and as a strategy to mitigate climate change. Lire davantage

The proposal of Bill 212 will not have the impact that some think will have. The only way to reduce car traffic is to reduce the number of cars by giving people more choices on how they get around safely in a city. This has been proven over time and time again. Lire davantage

This bill is extreme overreach from a corrupt government. The Ontario provincial government has not provided any factual evidence that this bill is needed. Give your head a shake Doug.

This bill proposes the removal of property protections which I strongly oppose. This bill suggests that the development of a new highway need not adhere to environmental restrictions, which I STRONGLY oppose. Lire davantage

I was relieved to hear that the provincial government has decided to act on the bike lane issue. Common sense must prevail. I just want to be clear, I’m not against bike lanes, i enjoy riding my bike, but Bloor St West is not the place to construct bike lanes. Lire davantage

I am writing to state my vehement opposition to bill 212. Municipalities need to have to power to develop bike infrastructure as needed to support the safety and accessibility needs of their community. Lire davantage

I’m vehemently opposed to the removal of bike lanes. I’m 28, and love Toronto. As an avid biker, I greatly appreciate the safety bike lanes provide. It would be a waste of my tax dollars to make the city less safe, especially when I voted for a city councillor defending the use of bike lanes. Lire davantage

I totally support the province’s actions to reduce gridlock and eliminate bike lanes in our neighbourhood as they are only marginally used by cyclists while causing a lot of congestion. This makes it difficult for emergency vehicles and has had a negative impact on neighbourhood businesses. Lire davantage

The dedicated bike lanes on Bloor St between Islington and Jane St are an absolute disaster. Never in my life has it ever taken me so long to travel anywhere in that area. Normally a 15 minute drive takes easily 30 minutes or more. Lire davantage

This is act is wholly misguided and waste of taxpayer funds. If the provincial government was serious about gridlock issues they would be looking to increase transit/alternative modes of transport to lessen the amount of cars on the road. Lire davantage

There is no data backed reason to remove bike lanes in Toronto. A better cycling network will improve traffic and generate more revenue for businesses along the cycling routes. Lire davantage
