It would be a travesty to develop even a third of the area around Wasaga. Just leave the land alone. Respect the animals that live there and leave our green spaces.

I believe this is a terrible idea. The environment and our parks need protecting! Tourism is good but when it comes at a cost to our sensitive and important areas, it’s not as important. Lire davantage

No, this should not happen. We need to protect the lands. Stop selling to developers for cheep, plus giving them extra incentives like tax breaks. Doug Ford needs to wake up and stop selling out the working class to the rich. Stop selling off land that needs to be protected. Lire davantage

Management by Ontario Parks supports the preservation of Wasaga Beach's sensitive ecosystem, which includes endangered species. Enabling the town to manage this park may lead to neglect in maintaining these habitats present. I thought we were all for Ontario Parks! Lire davantage

Please stay away from our park. There is enough space to build elsewhere. Why do you keep taking or selling off the beautiful parks in this province. Please Doug, stop. Is your bank account not full enough from all the other sell offs (Ontario place ) for example. Lire davantage

Natural green spaces are more important than industry. We do not need new development. Protect provincial parks!

The current beach areas (1 to 6 inclusive) at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park must be kept available for the public to use at their leisure in perpetuity. The beach areas should not be privatized!

Please keep Beach 1 & 2 under the jurisdiction of Ontario Parks. The maintenance would be a financial burden for the taxpayers of Wasaga Beach and could open the door to restricted access and future development.

This is another example of how this government wants to erode environmental protections. If Beach Area 1 is put into municipal hands, how long will it be before the beach is cleared and raked all the way to the tip- removing habitat for piping plovers and other species at risk? Lire davantage

I have a really bad feeling that once this is handed over to the town that this is going to cost taxpayers more money. This town has spent money like it's candy. I'm sure their going to build on that land just so the developers can give cash back to the mayor. Lire davantage

Our provincial parks are not a commodity to be torn apart and sold. This entire proposal is offensive and should not be allowed to move forward in any capacity. I grew up visiting Wasaga Beach as it was a wonderful park for low income Ontarians especially. Lire davantage

This is absolutely sickening. Stealing parkland from Canadians is abhorrent. Families deserve to use these park spaces - generations thrive near green spaces. Not to mention what happens to ecosystems (including agricultural systems) when we destroy them. Lire davantage

I do believe that transferring Nancy Island from provincial park to historical/tourism site makes some sense as I believe it will improve access to the site, support critical infrastructure investments and better support local tourism needs. Lire davantage

This is outrageous - Ontario is great because of the parks, beaches and protected sites that everyone can enjoy. Ford is starving our public systems and trying to sell off land that we all enjoy and share - in order to look out for him and his developer friends. This needs to stop. Lire davantage

This proposal is deeply concerning. Selling off protected provincial parkland to attract private “investment” undermines the very purpose of Ontario’s parks, to preserve natural spaces for public benefit, not corporate profit. This move sets a dangerous precedent. Lire davantage

I worry about the Piping Plovers that nest on the beach. They are endangered and need all the protection they can get. If that land is sold will they be protected?? Too much of Ontario is being developed and we are losing so many animals and plants as it is.

Do not sell Wasaga Provincial parklands to developers nor anyone else! Parkland has to be preserved for future generations. It's not a sell-off resource to be plucked for private profiteering. Keep it as it is for the public and preservation of natural environments.

Provincial Parks and conservation areas should stay protect d land.. They should grow and be better funded, absolutely not sold, shrunk, closed or sold ever. We can't get that space back. Leave Wasaga Beach as it is.
